I saw something on the Travel show this afternoon that looks so cool! AND....it's on Maui! In the town of Lahaina.

Ulalena - A Magical Show Of Ancient Hawaii
A feast for the senses, bends the rules as it rewrites the book on visitor-aimed shows!

Awarded "Best Show & Best Attraction" by the Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau, `Ulalena is a larger-than-life Hawaiian production and a must-see on the island of Maui!

`Ulalena is unlike anything ever performed in Hawaii. The story begins with the mythic creation of the islands and rolls through successive waves of voyagers who have found their way to these shores, from the first Polynesians to Captain Cook, the influx of Japanese and Filipinos who came to work the sugar cane fields, and finally to the present.
A Unique Hawaiia Performance
`Ulalena at Maui Theatre

The Maui Theatre is a state-of-the-art venue built specifically for this exceptional presentation. It employs the talents of some of Hawaii's most distinguished musicians and performers, combining live traditional Hawaiian music with 8-channel surround sound. Every seat maintains a sense of intimacy and interaction with the show.

Linda,
Oh, I am sooo envious! Maui is so beautiful and Kaanapali is a wonderful location. So many great spots to snorkel right from the beach(if you like to snorkel). The Road to Hana is a great way to spend the day. Lots of great spots to stop and take photos. You can get a CD and map at the Shell station in Kahului, (near the airport, which is near where you'll begin your drive)which will give you all the highlights of the Road, so that you know ahead of time where the "good" spots are to stop. The downhill bicycle ride is a lot of fun. You'll want to plan this early in your trip as they pick you up in the middle of the night (like 3AM!), so do it while your body clock is still on mainland time. I can provide you with some websites to check out, if you like. We've been to Maui several times.

Beckie ~

Send me anything that you have on Maui!! We have only been once. We actually LOVE to snorkel - own our own gear (I am an advanced diver - but Wayne is not so we snorkel some & dive some) Tell me all the places to snorkel right off the beach.

We are usually up at 3 am any way - so the bicycle ride for us will be no problem. We plan on driving to their shop - so we can spend the better part of the day coming down the volcano - maybe stop for nbreakfast someplace. As long as we return the bikes by 4 pm they told us.

Any info. would be so appreciated. Send me you e-mail in a PM & I'll send you mine.

Linda
